„Yoga is not about touching your toes, its what you learn on the way down.“ - Judith Hanson Lasater
First of all, why YOGA?
Integrating yoga into your (regular) workout program is beneficial on many levels. It can help prevent injury, relax muscles, and keep you flexible. Furthermore, the benefits of reduced stress and increased oxygen levels can give you an overall sense of wellbeing.
Second, why PRIVATE YOGA?
1. Going to a big yoga class with lots of students can lead you to perform yoga poses without proper alignment. Its difficult to see the instructor from the back of the room - so most of the students look around and „copy“ the person next to them. If the person next to you is doing a pose incorrectly, you might also do it improper and you have the chance to injure yourself.
A private yoga teacher will take the time to show you how to get in and out of every pose, how to modify poses and offer alternatives until you feel you can do the poses on your own.
2. You have a busy job, a child? And wanna enjoy some "alone" time? Thats what private classes are for.
New to Yoga?
If you have never done yoga before, chances are that you aren't that flexible. But don't worry, you cant expect to walk into a tennis court for the first time and play like a pro either. Increased flexibility comes with practice. There is no such thing as „being terrible at yoga“.
There is no competition in yoga - yoga is between you and yourself.
You might have heard them all, Bikram, Ashtanga, Hatha, Kundalini, Vinyasa Yoga just to name a few.
As you see, there are a lot of different Yoga styles, and every teacher will teach yoga in his own way.
I teach VINYASA YOGA styled classes.
(e. g. POWER YOGA, VINYASA FLOW, CORE POWER YOGA etc.)
Vinyasa means “breathing/movement system” — the linking of movement and breath (one breath for every movement).
Depending on your needs and level of fitness - a class will focus on building strength, flexibility and core stability. Sequences include standing, balancing, seated, twisting and inverted postures that will keep your yoga practice fresh and lively. Your entire body and mind will feel balanced and detoxified.
These classes will make you sweat, they are a real workout. Combining Yoga with Fitness is a great way to loose some weight too and get back into shape (e.g. after pregnancy, injury etc.). Arm balances will tone your arms and in general, your whole body will be toned and more strong.
However, if you feel more like a calm and quiet class - i'm happy to assist you with that too. .
Beginners, don't worry - we start step by step. No one is born a master.
„The first step is always the hardest, but it's the only way to reach the second step.“ - Susan Gale
I believe, that mixing up your workout is the best way to not get bored of it.
That way you will always try out something new and find out whats best for you and your body.
You always wanted to get into running but you don't wanna go by urself or you need someone that pushes you when you are about to give up? Great, i think running is good for your overall fitness and i’d love to run with you.
For example, instead of doing 60 minutes of yoga, you might wanna run for 30 minutes and than do 30 minutes of yoga / different fitness exercises.
Depending on your needs, we can plan a class just for you.
